Jammu and Kashmir Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha informed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi took stock of the terror attack on a bus in the Reasi district and has asked him to monitor the situation constantly. This comes as Union Ministers Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh have expressed deep pain after nine people were killed and 33 others injured after suspected terrorists fired upon a bus carrying pilgrims in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday. The bus rolled down a gorge following the attack. 

“I strongly condemn the cowardly terror attack on a bus in Reasi. My condolences to the family members of the martyred civilians. Our security forces and JKP have launched a joint operation to hunt down the terrorists,” Sinha wrote.

“PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji took stock of the situation and has asked me to constantly monitor the situation. All those behind this heinous act will be punished soon. Hon’ble PM has also directed that all the injured are provided the best possible medical care & assistance,” he added.

Union Minister Amit Shah said, “Deeply pained by the incident of the attack on pilgrims in Reasi, J&K. Spoke to the Lieutenant Governor and the DGP, J&K, and inquired about the incident. The culprits of this dastardly attack will not be spared and will face the wrath of the law. The local administration is working on a war footing to provide immediate medical attention. May the Almighty give the loved ones of the deceased the strength to bear this pain. I also pray for the speedy recovery of the injured”. 

Union Minister Rajnath Singh tweeted, “The attack on the bus carrying pilgrims in Reasi, Jammu and Kashmir is extremely reprehensible. My heart goes out to the families of those who have lost their loved ones in this heinous act against pilgrims. I also pray for the speedy recovery of the injured”. 

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also expressed his condolences, saying, “The cowardly attack on a bus carrying pilgrims in Jammu and Kashmir is extremely sad.  My humble tribute to the departed souls! My condolences are with the bereaved families.  I pray to Lord Shri Ram to give a place to the departed souls in his feet and provide speedy recovery to all the injured”. 

9 Pilgrims Killed In Terror Attack On Bus In J&K’s Reasi

Nine people were killed and 33 others injured after suspected terrorists fired upon a bus carrying pilgrims in Reasi district, Jammu and Kashmir, on Sunday. The bus rolled down a gorge following the attack.

The incident occurred at 6:10 pm when the terrorists opened fire on the bus, which was returning from the Shiv Khoti temple to Katra, according to police. Local villagers, along with the police, evacuated all the passengers by 8:10 pm. Superintendent of Police Reasi supervised the evacuation and rushed the injured to different hospitals.

Police confirmed ten deaths, and the 33 injured were referred to hospitals in Reasi, Treyath, and Jammu. Senior Superintendent of Police Reasi Mohita Sharma stated that the driver lost control of the bus due to the firing, causing it to fall into the gorge. The passengers were non-locals, and their identities were not confirmed yet.

The ADGP Jammu announced that a round-the-clock helpline, T-91, was created by the District Administration for information and assistance regarding the victims of the tragic bus accident at Kanda, Ransoo, Reasi. 
A joint operation headquarters of the police, Indian Army, and the CRPF was established at the site, launching a multi-dimensionsal operation to apprehend the attackers.
